Reel News - Dec. 2011
During this holiday season, remember to patronize or AATU Banquet/Auction sponsors. See the list on the AATU web site: AnnArborTU.org Reminder to all members: Visit the National Trout Unlimited web site www.tu.org and set up your log in information and up-date your contact information. This way we will have current telephone, address, and e-mail information when we request a membership list in January 2012. Notes from Mike Mouradian-President AATU The November meeting was amazing. Mike Schultz had the audience mesmerized by his comparison of West Michigan steelhead vs Steelhead Alley in Ohio. He had charts and diagrams like he was running a Fortune 500 seminar. Everyone left with a much greater understanding of the two fisheries. Thanks Mike for the honest look at these very different experiences. Next meeting will be at Colton Bay on Dec 12. It’s our annual Holiday Party. The party starts at 6pm and runs until John Davis the owner kicks us out (9pm). This is also a great chance to bring a significant other and hint about what type of Filson duds you would like. (I’ve got a hat and a vest as proof) There will be food and sweets. Also many of our members bring plates of cookies and snacks too. We will have water but can’t provide adult beverages. You’ll have to do that. In addition to just hanging out with friends we will also have a short presentation of what AATU has been doing the past year and to also kick off our annual Kayak Raffle and Banquet. We will have Kayak tickets to sell for those of you who want to get a head start. We will be calling on every one to help out with our mailings and banquet too. See you Dec 12 If you have a service or product you can donate, or idea for items to be included in our auction please contact Gene Michaelson our Prize chair at

. In the past we have had every thing from Botox to photographs to wine to pies to art to a catered dinner. We will also need help setting up and taking down the banquet room, as well as some light duty tasks during the auction to help make the banquet/auction run smoothly. You know that $35 you sent to join the national TU and you get that cool calendar. Your local AATU doesn’t receive any of that money. We rely solely on banquet profits to fund all that we do. We also accept donations from a few members who like to keep it local.
